What this is
Is the Coquihalla Open? is a free, single-purpose site that answers one question: is the Coquihalla Highway — Highway 5 between Hope and Kamloops via Merritt — open, closed, or delayed right now. No accounts, no clutter.
Where the data comes from
The status is pulled directly from the BC Ministry of Transportation's DriveBC Open511 API and refreshed every five minutes. We filter to events on Highway 5 within the Coquihalla corridor — Hope, Coq Summit, Merritt, and on to Kamloops. Driver reports beneath the main status are unverified crowd input, useful when official data lags a fast-moving incident.
